Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Otiko Afisa Djaba, during an official closing ceremony of the program in Bolgatanga Wednesday commended the 965 field staff deployed for the exercise in all 13 Municipal and District Assemblies in the region.

“We are left with 118 communities yet uncompleted. But we have been able to go through 1708 communities, that is an achievement and we will look at all those that we will retain because, we will not be able to pick all of you all, but will retain some of you to able to do the more house exercise. We engage as I said, 1003 officers but 965 reported for work. In the deployment exercise we have 135 supervisors, 808 enumerators in the 13 district of the upper east region with 22 district coordinators. The numbers of households came to about 145,000 and by time we closed, it will be getting to about 210,000 households, and so we will still be collating the data. The various district chief executive, we say ayikoo without we could not have gotten to where have, as well as the community vocal persons, we are so grateful to you for the help you gave to the ministry”.

Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Ayine Bukari, also used the medium to thank the Ministry and the World Bank for making the exercise of data collection possible in his region.

We are all aware that data is important in the development of the country such as Ghana. It used in the planning of all sector of the economy, provide a baseline for which to measure situations and help determine whether there is an improvement or not. I am pleased to note that the ministry from onset, the program which was engineered by the sector minister herself looks very bright. I am of the conviction that the enumerators did their best to collate the active data and the supervisors also did a great job to ensure that a quality job was done as well as the coordinators of the exercise”. He said

He was hopeful that the 118 communities left will be completed in due time.
