The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has praised herself for the boom in the fashion industry since the inception of the NPP government.

According to her, her sense of fashion has brought about a boom in the fashion industry and she is worth commending.

The Second Lady who spoke to Accra-based Citi FM indicated that “Sometimes I wear clothes and those who made it for me, their business booms and I’m happy for them because I’m also promoting their industry.”

She, however, indicated that the conversation should not be limited to her outlook at events but the impact she is making with her position in the country.

“I wish it wouldn’t be the preoccupation…because I do a lot of work that I will rather highlight. I mean if a woman is dressing well there shouldn’t be anything wrong with that. I think we should own our beauty and also make a difference.”

The fashion sense of the Second Lady has always been topical after any national occasion. However, some people admire her fashion sense while others criticise her for choosing clothes that they say do not reflect her religious values as a Muslim and her position as the wife of the Vice President.
