Communications team member of the Upper East Region People’s National Congress (PNC ), Johnson Ayine, has counseled former President John Dramani Mahama against wasting his time on political platforms to criticize every government policy, adding that Mahama should instead concentrate on propagating his agenda for election 2020.

Mr. Ayine further says the former President should use his time on platforms to tout his achievement during his term as President and desist from creating unwanted impression.

“The people interest is in your eight years, what have you done for them. He should use the opportunity to tell them what he has done for them as President and vice President”.

The PNC communicator’s counsel comes on the back of several criticisms Mr. Mahama rained on government during the last bit of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Unity Walk Held in the Volta Region.

Mr. Mahama among other things accused the Nana Addo led administration of being incompetent in managing the country’s economy. He mocked Vice President Bawumia for his inability to arrest the cedi depreciation against the dollar.

The NDC also criticized government on issues surrounding the Ghana Card registration being rolled out by government.

Commenting on the matter on Day Break Upper East on A1 Radio, however, Mr. Ayine suggested that Mr. Mahama should cease every opportunity that comes his way to tell the people of Ghana “what he has done in his eight as President and vice President and what he intends doing for them when given the mandate”.

He on the sideline advised the National Identification Authority (NIA) to use the procedures employed in the acquisition of the Voters Identification Card in 1992, for that of the Ghana Card registration.

“How we came by the voters ID card in 1992, we can take that same process to also get this Ghana card”.

The Ghana Card is rolled out by government to register and issue every Ghanaian with a card that identifies them. Registration of it has been fraught with a litany of challenges since it started.

But government assures that everything will be fine.
