Four masked robbers made away with two motorbikes when they attacked the Salaga Hospital in the early hours of Friday, June, 15.

The robbers first tied and muffled the security man on duty, Mohammed Seidu, when he dared to confront them.

The security man who was found lying unconscious about 30 metres from his duty post tied with ropes and a rag in his mouth was receiving treatment at the emergency ward of the hospital

“I went to ask them whether the motorbikes belong to them but they hit me hard in the face, tied and beat me and took away two motorbikes” he recounted.

The stolen motorbikes belong to relatives of patients at the hospital who blamed the incident on the rampant light out in Salaga which made it difficult for the security man to even see the faces of the robbers.

“The Eid-Ul fitr celebration is today and every year we record such cases and so there was no reason we should have lights out,” one of them told 3news.com.

Meanwhile, the victims are claiming that the security man took 5 cedis from each of them instead of the usual 50 pesewas to take care of the motorbikes, and are therefore demanding that he pays them or get them their motorbikes.

The case has since been reported to the Salaga police for investigation.
