Akufo-Addo is not sincere to Ghanaians about Eastern Corridor Roads – Inusah Fuseini

Former Road Minister, Inusah Fuseini, says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was not been sincere to Ghanaians when he suggested the Eastern Corridor road left behind by Ex-president John Mahama is horribly bumpy no one could have a jolly ride on it, let alone to sleep while taking a ride on that stretch.

He said the the Eastern corridor road had been separated by lots and the Mahama-led NDC administration worked on some of the lots before leaving office after the 2016 general election.

According to the former roads Minister, the impression that has been created by President Akufo-Addo during recent his tour in the Volta region that the NDC said they had completed the Eastern Corridor road was unfair. “And despite that, I had always known that while NDC was in power, an NPP government will play propaganda with the Eastern Corridor road.” he said.

“I think the President has not been sincere at all to Ghanaians, in trying to paint the picture that we had completed the Eastern Corridor roads and that we have produced a first class road that will enable him sleep, as he has been doing in his car, but unfortunately when he went there, he couldn’t sleep because the road was bumpy”. The Tamale Central Member of Parliament told Host of DayBreak Upper East, Samuel Mbura.

Mr. Inusah said when President Akufo-Addo appeared in parliament in February this year, he gave an Ewe proverb and said he was looking for resource to go and do the Eastern Corridor road; stressing that if the NDC had done all the Eastern Corridor roads, why would the President go be looking for money to complete the same roads.

He contended that the NDC administration had secured from the Chinese government a loan for the completion of parts of the road which started before they lost power and wondered why funding was still a major issue in continuing with the roads.
