The National Democratic Congress in the Upper East Region, has issued a statement defending the conduct of one of its members, Joshua Akamba at the female Hostel of the Tempane Senior High School.

The Party has also criticized the Ghana Police Service, for inviting Mr. Akamba and one other NDC member to question them on the principle of inciting students against President Nana Addo and the Member of Parliament.

“… the NDC is calling on the Ghana Police Service to be fair on this issue and President Nana Addo to sit up and implement the policy (Free SHS Policy) as he promised Ghanaians in their electioneering campaigns in 2016 and stop looking for scape goats such as Mr. Captain Joshua Akamba, the headmaster of Tempane Senior High School and Mr. Emmanuel Issaka who suffered police harassment and intimidation until he is granted Police enquiry bail as solution to the myriad of challenges they faced in the implementation of the free SHS policy.” The statement said.

Below is the statement issued by the Upper East Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress over the weekend.
