Aspiring Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sylvester Mensah has castigated President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of deliberately sacking Public Sector workers who are not sympathizers of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Mr. Mensah indicated that, there is no job security for Public Sector workers from different political backgrounds under this NPP government.

According to him, Public Sector workers who are sympathetic towards other political parties rather than the NPP are treated as nuisance by the President and some NPP members.

“We are experiencing an abdication of moral leadership in this country, we are experiencing a situation where when you don’t belong to the NPP you either be dismissed from the public or civil service, you are either transferred or frustrated in way that would make you exit the system” He said.

The Presidential hopeful said this when he spoke exclusively on Reporters’ Visit on A1 Radio during his meeting with NDC delegates in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region.

The former National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Chief Executive Officer is in the race with former President John Dramani Mahama and many others including former Trade Minister, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin and former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Professor Joshua Alabi.

Mr. Sylvester Mensah is confident of winning the party primaries adding that “from the kind of patronage and endorsement we are receiving, if that is going to translate into votes then we have won”
