Member of Parliament for the Tempane Constituency, who doubles as the Deputy Attorney General, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka has reacted to to the viral video capturing the Deputy National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress, Joshua Akamba inciting some students at Tempane High School against the President and Tempane Member of Parliament.

At a Press Conference, the Tempane Member of Parliament flanked by some members of the New Patriotic Party, called on the called on the National Democratic Congress desist from condoning the negative action of Mr. Joshua Akamba and rather assess the video from a nationalistic view and consider what it could cause among students in the school.

According to Mr. Kpemka it cannot be true that, the students stopped vehicle of Mr. Akamba as he claimed, to incite them against the President of the Republic and himself. He described the defense made by Mr.Akamba as palpable falsehood, meant to for propaganda purpose.

“As adumbrated above, the said video which has since gone viral contains a message which can only be charitably described as inciting, insulting and a conduct unbecoming of an aspiring National Organizer. Again in the video, one Akamba points at one of the Girls dormitories with boxes packed outside and urges the students to vote against the sitting President and Member of Parliament in 2020, for being the cause of the students’ deplorable living conditions in the school. He also told the students to vote for the National Democratic Congress in 2020 to help resolve their Problems.”

Mr. Kpemka said, since the video went viral, Mr. Akamba has questioned by several media outlets, where he claims that, he was passing through the school to Pusiga, when the students blocked him thereby compelling him to address them.

The Member of Parliament believes the Mr. Akamba has been lying in his defense, saying, he had gathered that, it was raining on the day, the NDC Deputy National Organizer was passing and the students were in inside, but suspect that, he deliberately stopped in front of the girls dormitory and organized the girls himself or had an insider to prepare the girls and grounds for him.

On why the government does not deserve to be hooted at, the Deputy Attorney General, the government is working hard to improve on infrastructure at the school, saying, “… the NPP has contributed to the development of the school for more than the NDC and so it will be hypocritical for Joshua Akamba to make it look as though the school was better under NDC and the NPP has come to make conditions worse.”

He said has personally contributed enormously to the development of the school and he is on record to have personally been motivating Teachers in the school to encourage them to work extra hard to impart knowledge.

“Tempane Senior High School was established in 1998 at the premises of the old Tempane Middle Boarding School with very limited infrastructure. I was privileged to be the first English Teacher in the School with several constraints.

It must be noted that, it was not until the government of Former President Kufour came to power that the school witnessed massive infrastructural development.

The Government of former President Kufour and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) provided the following; 12 unit classroom storey block. A storey building administration block and a storey boy’s dormitory block and the current structure being used as dining hall. In addition, the government of Former President Kufour renovated the existing classroom blocks at the time.” Mr. Kpemka explained.

He further stated that, the government of His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo in 2017 upon a request by the Member of Parliament, promptly awarded a contract for the construction of an additional dormitory block and a six unit classroom block and in addition, the District Assembly last year, awarded a three unit classroom block to augment the existing structures. The three projects are at various stages of completion.

“As MP of Tempane constituency, and upon request by the Headmaster, I donated a tricycle to the school to facilitate the transportation of foodstuff to the corn mill and to the kitchen. I personally also motivated the staff; both teaching and non teaching to put up their best. The only dormitory block which was initiated by the NDC was abandoned for close to a year before the NPP came to power and the GETFUND has since paid the said Contractor and work is progressing steadily.” He said

Meanwhile the Member of Parliament for the Tempane District for the second time, has procured and distributed a total of 27,000 Exercise books to a total of 45 Basic schools in the constituency.
