District Chief Executive of Nabdam, Agnes Anamoo has commissioned a Community-Based Health Planning and Service (CHPS) compound at Gumwagre, in the Yakoti electoral area.

It will be recalled that, A1 Radio had earlier aired a story in which Dr. Thomas Moore, the Contractor of the facility claimed the facility had been completed but was abandoned by the Assembly.

At the commissioning and handing over ceremony of the facility, the DCE in an interview with A1 Radio dismissed claims by the Contractor. She explained that the facility had not been completed as claimed by the Contractor.

To buttress her dismissal of the Contractor’s claims, Mrs. Anamoo took some Journalists round the facility to witness some current works done by the Contractor.

“… I came and met the Project at the beginning stage, it was not just completed as it is now, I did my best and paid the Contractor, just because of the interest of the people. I did my best in paying him, especially anytime there is Common Fund. But when he finished, he wrote and asked us to come and receive it, because the Nurses, sometimes when it rains they come and sit at facility and make it dirty. I asked my technocrats to inspect the facility before the Assembly receive the project, unfortunately the technocrats came back and told me we could not receive the facility because some work still needs to be done.” She Explained

Road leading to the CHPS Compound is a challenge and the District Chief Executive has promised to make the road motorable to enable community members to patronize the facility.

The Nabdam District Health Director, Mary Seidu said the facility will go a long way in contributing to the welfare of the community. She however, advised the community members and staff to take care of the facility since is an intervention to their livelihood.

New facility has an OPD, Consulting room, Dispensary room, Delivery Room, Store room and a Ward. Also attached is a three room quarters, with toilet and bathroom, Kitchen and Store room.
