Two second years students believed to be in their early 20s on Friday May 10, were sacked from the Zorko Senior High School in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region for smoking wee during classes hours.
According to a teacher who refused to speak on tape, these students sometimes prefer being in their rented rooms smoke wee to classes and “that will not be accepted in the school hence they should be used as caution to other students.”
Narrating the incident to A1 News, a student name withheld said though the action by the school authorities was hash on the said students, it will also help them to know their purpose of being in school.
He however explained that those students have been spotted several times on campus and various places using hard drugs especially wee.
“…this is not the first time they have been caught smoking wee during classes hours. Most times they will go to the market place and sit with community members to smoke wee.”
Meanwhile a reliable source has it that some group of students in the school have formed a group known as “Jamaican boys” solely male students with claims of providing security for students in and out of campus.
