WILLIAM JALULAH APPOINTED AS GENERAL MANAGER OF A1 RADIO

Managing News Editor of A1 Radio, William Nlanjerbor Jalulah, has been appointed as the General Manager of the media giant.

Having served in an acting capacity since May 15, 2019, following the exit of the former General Manager, Justin Kolog, Mr. Jalulah’s appointment takes effect from September 1, 2019.

The veteran journalist, was among a six-member team that started A1 Radio when it was established in 2009. He remains in the history of A1 Radio as the first News Editor/Anchor and Host of DayBreak Upper East, the station’s flag shift programme.

Mr. Jalulah holds Diploma in Journalism from the School of Professional Studies, Accra, and Bachelor of Arts in Management and Sociology (combined major) from the University of Ghana, Legon.

He is the Director of Jowill College, a college that has trained a good number of young journalists in the Upper East Region. He is also the Director of Apex Tower Communications Ltd and Proprietor of Passion Multimedia Services.

He started his journalism career at Style FM, now Gurene Style in 2006 as an intern. He was employed the same year as a reporter and producer of Style Morning Show, hosted by the late Godwin Narh. He later became the Assistant News Editor of the station before he resigned in August 2007 and joined The Chronicle Newspaper as Upper East Regional Correspondent.

In July 2010, Mr. Jalulah was adjudged the Best Feature Writer in a media awards programme organised by Flip Media in Tamale for Journalists in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions.

As a member of the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Upper East Chapter, Mr. Jalulah is the Chairman of Publicity/Organising Committee, one of the three committees set up by the association to plan the maiden edition of GJA Regional Awards.

His appointment was announced by the Director of Agreed Best Communications Litd, operators of A1 Radio, Regina Bagnaaba at a general staff meeting on Tuesday September 10, 2019.

According to the Director, within the four months Mr. Jalulah has acted as General Manager, she was satisfied with his performance, hence, his confirmation. She, however called on workers of the broadcasting house to support the new manager in the line of his duties.

On his part, the visibly elated General Manager called for hard work and commitment to duty from staff; to help improve the fortunes of A1 radio.

Though the new manager remains as the Managing News Editor, an Assistant News Editor, Joshua Asaah was subsequently promoted to the position News Editor. He has now been tasked to ensure the day-to-day production of all news bulletins of the station – NEWS 706 at 7:06 AM every week day and News Link at 2:00PM on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursday as well as news and current affairs analysis show, Reporters’ Visit on Tuesdays and Fridays at 2:00PM. He will be assisted by Samuel Mbura, Host of DayBreak Upper East.

Following the resignation of Juana Apeligeba as Administrative Secretary of the company, Marina Tia was also introduced to staff as the new Administrative Secretary while Paul Fordjour takes over from Ebo-Bruce Quansah as the A1Radioonline Editor.
