Former Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Adomako Baafi, has descended heavily on the critics of President Nana Addo’s government; saying “The NPP is not corrupt as a government.”

Since assumption of office in January 2017, the NPP administration just like many past governments has been bedeviled with allegations of corruption scandals some of which are reportedly cleared, whiles others are under investigations.

Expectations were high when President Akuffo Addo, on Monday was billed to address lawyers at the Ghana Bar Association’s annual conference; having corruption as key on his agenda.

But reactions from the opposition parties, particularly the NDC, indicate that they are not enthused by President Akuffo Addo’s stands on the current state of corruption in the country.

Speaking in an interview on A1 radio’s DayBreak Upper East, Yaw Adomako Baafi, said his “Party {the NPP} is ever ready to fight corruption and Ghanaians are aware that the NPP government is on course in fighting corruption.”

“We are not corrupt as a government and we are not ready to accept that.” He emphasized.

Despite his admission that there are elements of corruption in every government, Mr. Baafi noted that the NPP is better in fighting the canker than the opposition NDC.
