Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom road will open up Upper East region – Hon.Tangoba

The Bolga-Bawku-Pulmakom road when completed is expected to boast the economic gains of the Upper East Region and the country at large. 

Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage who has been passionate about the construction of the road said ,the completion of the road is expected to ease stress of travelers and also improve the economic gains of region and the country as a whole. 

“For me the human comfort is paramount. Apart of the human comfort is the trade links that we have. We have a lot of tracks that pass here from Burkina Faso, Togo and Mali. Aside that, in the region, we grow a lot of onions and we rear cattle. So the economic benefits will be huge”, she said. 

The minister who said this when she embarked on a visit to the road on expressed satisfaction of work done on the road saying “the speed of which the contractor is working is quite impressive”.

Works on the road which came to standstill in 2017,resumed in September last year with the Brazilian firm, now known as Queroz Galvao M I moving to site. 

Resident Engineer of Queroz Galvao M I, Peter Dagadu said the 109 kilometer stretch of road is expected to complete in the next 30 months. 

The road when completed he added will have a dual carriage in the Bolgatanga municipality to reduce vehicular traffic.

“Bolga will be a dull carriage, meaning we will have a 7.3 carriage road, a medium 1 meter and another 7.3 carriage road on both sides. In addition, we shall have a walkway and a bicycle lane on both sides”.
