The Member of Parliament of Talensi Constituency, Hon. B.T. Baba mobilized personal resources to provide Personnel Protective Equipment(PPE) and other medical essentials to health workers and market women in Talensi District of the Upper East Region.
The donation, according to the MP aims at sensitizing and motivating health workers in the fight against Covid19.
“This is the time that we need to show love and support to mothers and fathers in various communities. In my capacity, I will continue to work tirelessly and closely with my people and support them with the little I have”, the Constituency Chairman of the NDC,Mr. Adongo George spoke on behalf of the MP.
He added that the MP will support some selected health workers and deploy at various vantage points in the district to educate community members on personal hygiene and how they can play safe to prevent this deadly virus.
“All markets and some busy public places and offices will also be given the Veronica Buckets, liquid and carbolic soap for the people to frequently wash their hands”, he added.
The PPEs and items donated were 20,000 pieces of examination gloves, 500 pieces of N95 face mask, hand sanitizers, hundreds of liquid soap, thousands of carbolic soap, and tens of Veronica Buckets.
The District Director of Health, Madam Estella Abazesi, after receiving the donation used the opportunity to remind residents to stay at home and cautioned them to observe the precautionary measures.
She also expressed gratitude to the MP ,BT Baba for coming to their rescue with the medical essentials.
