I pray Covid19 doesn’t get to my constituency-MP

Former Deputy Attorney General under the John Mahama’s administration of the National Democratic Congress who doubles as Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region, Dr. Dominic Akuretinga Ayine is praying fervently to God for protection of his constituents from Covid19.

The MP noted that though the Coronavirus has become a global pandemic which his constituency cannot be insulated from any possible outbreak,his prayer was that ,none of his constituents will be affected by the deadly disease.

According to him, the trend of the spread of Covid19 has become alarming hence,needs drastic measures to deal with the situation.

He said one of the surest ways of curbing the spread of the disease depends largely on the human behavior and adherence to precautionary measures as well as prayers for protection from God.

“I know that this is a public health crisis ,I know it may affect my constituents I pray to God that we don’t record even a single case of Covid19 in Bolga East constituency . But we’ve to take preventive measures to ensure that the Covid19 does not affect our people”.

He however called on residents to abide by the precautionary measures recommended by the World Health Organization(WHO) to ensure they remained safe from the disease.

The MP was speaking to the Media after a donation of items he procured to the tune of Ghs33000 from his personal funds as part of his contributions towards the fight against Covid19.

The donation was made to the Bolgatanga East Health Directorate for onwards distributions to facilities in the District.

Bolgatanga East District Health Director ,Eugene Osei commended the MP for the intervention describing the donation as timely and assured that his outfit will ensure appropriate use of the items.

The items included ;30 Veronica buckets with Stands,30boxes of Hand Sanitizers,Face mask and gloves ,3thermometer guns,protective gowns and dispensers.

Meanwhile,the MP has initially supported the health directorate with some sum of money to aid their movements for community sensitization when Ghana first recorded a confirmed case of Covid19.
