Upper East Regional Minister who is contesting the upcoming Parliamentary Primaries of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in Navrongo Central Constituency,Hon. Tangoba Abayage has revealed how supporters of her opponent have abused her with intemperate language and immoral tags.
She narrates that unsavory comments and attacks have been hurled at her person ever since she made her intentions known to contest the seat.
According to her, she has instructed her campaign Team to be decorous in public communications but supporters of the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Constituency, Joseph Kofi Adda have made it a penchant to engage in political vituperation and vile allegations against her with the least platform they get.
She indicated that though these allegations against her were frivolous and a defamation of her person, neither she nor her team members will engage anyone in any dirty game because, she has made a public pledge to be decorous in her campaigns for the betterment of the party ahead of December 7,2020 elections.
“I will be frank with you,I’ve not seen any post from anybody related to my camp or associated with my camp directly insulting MP whom I’m contesting. I said it and everyone knows that wherever we’ve gone, I drum that home. You can never insult my opponent on my behalf,so we have stacked to that and we will stick to that to the end” She said.
Hon. Tangoba however noted that despite the insults that have been well orchestrated to distract her,she was resolute and focused to winning the elections. Madam Tangoba lamented her situation on Daybreak Upper East in an interview with Samuel Mbura.
“I’ve heard and seen a lot of unprintable!I mean unprintable !things that will want you to just puke about me but that is why I’m the Lioness. I’ve been in this terrain long enough ,my body is tough as the crocodile skin no matter how much mud is thrown,it won’t stick. as for the insults,they can go ahead. I’ve heard it.If you are a female in politics, if you are not a prostitute,you are a prostitute,you are a witch ,you are mad now they are saying I’m a drunkard” She lamented.
Historically,Madam Tangoba is the first Female Upper East Regional Minister and first female to contest parliamentary primaries of the NPP in Navrongo Central Constituency since 1992.
