The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate in the Talensi constituency, Thomas Duanab Wuni through his lobbying skills has secured 452 dual desk from the Northern Development Authority (NDA) for distribution to schools in the district.

The provision of the furniture was necessitated due to lack of furniture in some basic schools in the district.

Aide to the Candidate, Peter Bassana said the donation of the furniture formed part of the constituency share of the one million dollars per constituency initiative.

“Let me make it clear here that this project is indeed part of the one million [dollars per] constituency project that we have been talking about as a political party. People continue to ask us, what have we done over the years with the one million dollar? We promise one million dollar but they are not seeing anything. This is part of the one million dollar per constituency project which Talensi is benefiting from the Northern Development Authority.” He said.

These remarks were made during a short ceremony to hand over the furniture to the Talensi district directorate of education in Tongo. Mr. Duanab expressed optimism that the gesture will improve the academic performance of students in the district.

District Chief Executive for Talensi, Dr. Christopher Boatbil appreciated the efforts made by the parliamentary candidate in securing the furniture for the district.

“I must be grateful to the Northern Development Authority through who’s financial support this has come to a reality. But I must also state categorically that, as much as we appreciate the effort of NDA, we must also appreciate that of our parliamentary candidate, Thomas Duanab Wuni whose effort has resulted in getting us this furniture”

Dr. Boatbil added that the district will benefit more projects in the coming days.

The Talensi district director of education, Hajia Adisa Emelia Abudulai also thanked Mr. Duanab for the support and pledged to put the gesture in to good use. She also appealed for more support form the district assembly.
