A suspected hardened criminal noted for killing people in the Upper East Region has been arrested by the security agencies.
Suspect Malam Ali ,51 years had been declared wanted after the killing of a 21-year-old man at Sherigu in the Bolgatanga Municipality was linked to him. He had also been associated with an attempted killing incident in 2015.
He absconded but was subsequently arrested at his hideout in Takoradi in the Western region on Monday May 25, 2020.
The suspect will soon be arraigned before court for prosecution.
A police statement issued on Friday, signed by Upper East Regional Police Public Relations Officer ASP David Fianko Okyere and copied A1radioonline.com said “Suspect Malam Ali is now in police custody in the Upper East region as efforts are underway to arraign him before court for prosecution”.
The police indicated that suspect Malam Ali employed the services of the deceased to deliver some goods to an unknown location with his tricycle popularly called ‘ Mahama can do’ however, the remains of the boy was found a day after at Sherigu bear refuse dump.
The police has therefore cautioned commercial drivers to be vigilant not to fall prey to circumstances.
Meanwhile, the general public has been assured that the police will enforce all available security tactics to ensure public safety.
