The total confirmed case count of Coronavirus in the Upper East Region has hit 128. This is according to the official website of Ghana Health Service.
The additional figures accrued from a backlog of samples that were pending results.
Until the surge for the past weeks,the region recorded a total of 42 with 16 active cases with the remaining discharged after recovery and 2 deaths.
For weeks now, residents of the region who have been in a celebratory mood as a result of the few numbers recorded and the high recovery rate, have become alarmed following the announcement today of the surge in the numbers.
The surge in the numbers now puts Upper East as 7th in terms of regions with the highest number of cases, having been 9th only yesterday June 11, 2020 with 42 cases.
