Street, traffic lights to be fixed in UER-Roads Minister

Lamentations about poor visibility and dysfunctional street and traffic lighting system in the Upper East Region will soon be over. This is the assurance from the Minister for Roads and Highways , Kwesi Amoaku Attah.

He made this assurance following a request placed to him by the Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayage during a press briefing in Bolgatanga.

According to him “The issue of traffic lights in the region has been noted and is being taken care of and being worked on. We have selected a number of traffic lights for Bolgatanga, Bawku and Navrongo. We are doing five in Bolgatanga, we are doing three in Bawku and we are doing two in Navrongo”.

Mr. Amoaku added that “Procurement has almost completed, I want to assure you. You made mention that some of them are dysfunctional. I wish to assure you that I have directed the director of the urban road to immediately take action and send a team here by next week to restore those ones that are not working”.

The Minister is on a working visit to tour the Upper East Region to asses the state of roads network and take the necessary action and inform central government about the situation.
