Deputy Upper East Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Zebila Constituency, Frank Fuseini Adongo has refuted allegations that he paid delegates to vote for him in order to retain his candidature.

His comments follow accusations by his contender in the just ended NPP Parliamentary primaries,Dr. John Kingsley Krugu that ,delegates were paid good sum of money by the MP to vote for him.

According to Mr. Krugu , the incumbent MP, spent between Ghs700000 to Ghs900000 in vote buying a night before the elections,a reason he lost because he had less to give to the delegates.

He went further to indicate that had it not being the goodies shared by the MP, his victory was assured.

But in an exclusive interview on Daybreak Upper East with Samuel Mbura , Frank Fuseini Adongo dismissed the claims and described the allegations as baseless.

He however noted that if he had such amount of money as an MP, he would have rather pumped it into developing the constituency than sharing it for votes.

“In fact I don’t know the source of that information but to the best of my knowledge  I didn’t buy anybody to vote for me” . My delegates are not so cheap to the point  that I will be brain washing them with material things . I know the type of delegates that I have in Zebila Constituency , they are people of integrity. They will not be allow to be bought not to talk of asking them to swear is  it oath or whatever . I’m surprised this information is coming from “ He said.

The Zebila Constituency Consistency has been a safe seat for the NDC since 1992 until 2016 that the NPP won the seat for the first time with Frank Fuseini Adongo as a candidate.

The MP is therefore calling on the rank and file of the party to bury their differences from the primaries and work towards retaining the seat in the upcoming general elections.
