I will miss my “godfather” -Dr. Nadia breaks down on death of Sir John

Deputy Director in Charge of Diaspora Affairs at the Presidency,Dr. Nadia Musah Adongo has shared her pain and vacuum created in her heart following the death of former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie known as ‘Sir John’.

She said in an exclusive interview with Samuel Mbura on Daybreak Upper East , that she will miss everything about him because, he was her political “godfather” that was why his death has come to her as a big blow.

Dr. Nadia recounted that ,she got to know Sir John over a decade ago in Canada and since then, He has nurtured and guided her political career.

According to her, the last conversation with Sir John was about a week ago when she tried all means to visit him which he declined indicating that ,he was not well and wanted to take a rest.

She added , Sir John sounded healthy as at the time she spoke with him hence, news of his death struck her so much because ,she was optimistic of seeing him healthy again and intended to visit him when she returned from her journey to the Upper East Region.

Madam Nadia who wept and shed tears on live radio with pain ,however ,noted that it was difficult for her associates to break the sad news to her knowing the relationship she had with the late Sir John until a call came through to inform her about the sad incident. So she called the family and the news was confirmed to her.

Sir John is reported to have died Wednesday morning from Covid-19.

Meanwhile, his sister and mother have also passed on and still at the morgue.
