The Parliamentary Candidate (PC) of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Bolgatanga Central Constituency in the Upper East Region, Rex Asanga, has outlined his vision for the Bolgatatanga ahead of the December 7 elections.

Unveiling his dreams during an interview on A1 Radio, Mr. Asanga said his passion to become a representative of the people in Parliament was due to the constant lack of development in the constituency.

According to him, past and present Members of Parliament (MPs) have failed to develop the constituency; a situation he said was born out of selfish interest on the part of those MPs.

“My vision for Bolga is to make it an ultra-modern town in the regional capital. First, the issues of our poor road networks need to be looked at, good and reliable utilities for all residents; electricity and water, and also I will equip the educational and health infrastructure as well as empower the youth with skills that can gain them employable opportunities.”

“The use of vocational skills by our youth; plumbing, carpentering, and electrical as well as women having easy access to business capital would be what I will be addressing as well.” He stated.

As part of his dreams, Mr Asanga said “We want to have a vision of a municipality where the fear of God defines how we do things and relate with one another. So, this is the picture I have for our municipality and I want to believe that in the next months when you have me as your MP things will change for the better.”

Taking a swipe at the incumbent MP for the area on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Isaac Adongo, the PC said “If you have an MP who has a cat and mouse relationship with the President, how can he help our young people to get jobs. No wonder he fails to assist our young ones to get some of the services jobs (Fire Service, Migration, Customs, and Military) for them.”

Mr. Asanga noted that as a development oriented person, he subscribe to a political philosophy that seeks to create opportunities for his constituents to develop to their fullest potential.

He therefore urged the electorate in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency not to repeat the mistake of voting for his opponent, Mr. Adongo, to go to Parliament a second time because he had failed the youth woefully.

The PC who is contesting the seat for the 2nd time stressed that his vision is to address the issues that affect the constituents if elected; and called on the electorates to vote massively for him and President Akuffo Addo.
