He admonished them to work according to the laws governing the police administration as well as the laws of the country; stating that they were not above the laws they are supposed to enforce.

“Remember that your calling as a police officer is an honorable one but it does not set you apart from the society or the community you are going to serve. Today, you are being granted that enviable State Authority to enforce the laws, but remember, you are also a member of the public.”

“You are obliged to comply with the very laws you are to enforce. You must conduct yourselves in appearance and comportment in such a manner as to inspire confidence and respect for you as a person and for the police service in general.” He said.

DCOP Ampofo-Duku, further task the newly trained police officers not to allow their personal feelings, friendship and political affiliation to influence their official duty; adding that officers who are found to misconduct themselves in the service will be rejected by the Police system.

Speaking on behalf of the Upper East Regional Minister, Tangoba Abayaga, District Chief Executive for Talensi, Christopher Boatbil, called on the newly passed-out officers to work hard and achieve their full potential in the police profession.
