According to him, persons living with disability (PWD) often think that they can take advantage of their conditions to misbehave in public without necessarily being punished for their actions; adding that his outfit will not support such attitudes during the coming elections.

Speaking at the sixth disbursement of the Persons With Disability Fund in Paga, Mr. Bendoore stated that the absolute observance of peace before, during and after the elections remains the only way to achieving the needed development for the country.

“Do not think that you can use your condition to misbehave. With your condition, if you still misconduct yourself in the upcoming elections, how the law will deal with someone who is not a disability will be the same way it will deal with you. So, I will call on you all to conduct yourself that day. That day, make sure you go there as early as possible and after casting your vote, go back home.”

Touching on the disbursement of the PWD fund to his members, Mr. Bendoore noted that a total of Ghc78,600.00 was released to the district for disbursement.

“This sixth disbursement has a total beneficiary of 75 persons where the highest beneficiaries will take Ghc3,000.00 and the lowest beneficiaries will also take Ghc1,200.00 with other items.”

He admonished the beneficiaries not to misuse the funds there were being supported with but rather focus on their capacity building.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the media expressed their gratitude to the government and pledged to put the monies into good use.

Adonabugi Kofi, a beneficiary who is undergoing apprenticeship training, said he will use the money received to expand his business.

Another, Aavue Adiah also noted that she will use her money to open a provision mart where she will be focusing on how to make ‘Sobolo’ (a local beverage) for sales.
