Basic schools to reopen January 15, 2021 amidst covid-19 pandemic fears

All basic Schools across the country, both private and public, will reopen on January15, 202; amidst covid-19 pandemic fears.

This was announced by the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, during his 21st covid-19 address to the nation.

The President, on March 2020 announced the closure of schools across the country due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

But speaking yesterday after 11 months of being out of school, he said “From 15th January, our children in kindergarten, primary and Junior High, in both private and public schools, will be back I school.”

President Akufo-Addo also used his address to announce the resumption of Senior High Schools.

He said “All SHS 1 students will start classes from 10th March, with all students embarking on a single-track academic calendar.”

“SHS 2 and SHS 3 will, however, return to school from 18th January.”

He continued that all students in universities and other tertiary institutions are to be in school from Saturday, 9th January.
