Stop the political laziness – NDC communicator tells NPP

A member of the National Democratic Congress’ communication team in the Upper East Region, Isaac Ayemvoa has urged supporters and members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop engaging in political laziness and rather be calm for the law to operate in the Supreme Court.

Speaking on A1 Radio on Thursday, January 28, 2021, Mr. Ayemvoa noted that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as a party is not only interested in winning the case against the Electoral Commission in the Supreme Court, but wants to explore all the legal processes available.

But Wilson Dabuo of the NPP communications team has a contrary view, saying that the National Democratic Congress was rather exhibiting some drama in court as the petitioner does not have evidence to back its claims in court.

Wilson Doba said: “I believe strongly that it is befitting to describe the NDC and their behavior in court as drama, and I’m saying this because when you look at them from the onset, they said they have won the election because they won the majority in Parliament and so their followers should jubilate to protect their votes. Now all of this drama alongside with the demonstrations, protests, burning of tyres and going to court is mind-boggling.”

Mr. Ayemvoa of the NDC in response said: “We as a party still maintain our focus and want to explore the legal processes of the law and I want to tell the supporters and members of NPP to stop their political laziness. … I would have been happier if they (NPP members) can quote a single law that says we (NDC) should not do what we are doing in court, or what we are doing doesn’t exist in the law court. They should stop exhibiting that laziness and allow the legal system to process everything.”

Meanwhile, the NPP communications team member maintained that the NDC actually has nothing to say and just wants to play with the emotions of its supporters.
