Congregants of The River of Life International Global Prayer Centre in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region were on Thursday night attacked by 6 armed men suspected to be robbers during a 4-days church program.
The church, located at Soe-Akupeliga started its 4-days program from Tuesday, February 2 and was expected to end on Friday, February 5, 2021 with services from 6:30pm to 9:00pm each night.
Narrating the incident to A1Radioonline.com, an eyewitness who happens to be a member of the church said towards the close of service on Thursday, 6 unidentified men arrived with 2 motorbikes and 2 tricycles, popularly known as ‘mahama candoo’ and invaded the church premises; subjecting the congregants to robbery attack.
According to the eyewitness, the suspected robbers managed to take away the victims’ personal possessions; mostly, cash, mobile and phones.

The spate of armed robbery in the Upper East Regional capital and its environs has become a matter of concern to residents.
Residents live in fear following the increasing cases of armed robbery in the area.
