Trade and Industry Minister, Ekow Spio-Garbrah has warned investors to be cautious of middlemen who claim to have connections to facilitate meetings with government.

According to him, the open door policy adopted by government makes it possible for anyone interested in investing in the country to do so without an intermediary.

Addressing a recent investment meeting in the United Kingdom (UK), Mr Garbrah said the practice where investors insist on seeing the President before they commence business must stop.

He said investors should, on their own, be willing to see ministers; who operate an open door policy and will be ready at all times to address their needs, without having to go through any middleman.

One major concern which came up during the discussions, was the long delay associated with the clearing of goods at the Tema Port but Mr Garbrah assured that measures are underway to expand the ports.

He said procedures are underway to expand the ports in the coming years to allow more ships to come in and put in more systems to enable officials do a faster job than is currently being done.
