Former Member of Parliament for Nabdam Constituency in the Upper East Region, Boniface Gambila has reacted to critics that suggest that he ‘mafia’ another party member from contesting him at the parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

According to him, he never ‘mafia’ anyone at the primaries rather the said contestant was not smart enough to be called a politician.

Mr. Gambila who revealed this on A1 Radio explained that politics is all about being smart and tactical and if one lacks such qualities, such a person should not be called a politician.

“…if an interested person fails to understand the golden principle of politics then such a person has lost the title to be called a politician. It is only illiterates who fail to reason such a notion. Politics is all about being smart and tactical.”

Mr. Gambila who contested in the 2020 Parliamentary election on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party in the Nabdam Constituency and lost, noted that his loss was justifiable but he can only fault himself and not any person.

“As a politician, one thing I have learned is that never fault anyone for anything. I saw my defeat like that. Yes, many approached me in so many ways but that is how it is. For campaigns, I and my team did our best.”

Mr. Gambila has been appointed by His Excellency President Nana Akufo-Addo to be Ghana’s Ambassador to Burkina-Faso.
