President Akufo Addo rewards Binduri with Deputy Ministerial position

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has submitted a list of Deputy Minister nominees to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, for vetting and possible approval.

Among the list of Deputy Minister nominees is the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, Abdulai Abanga, who happens to be the only New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament in the Upper East Region.

Mr. Abanga has been nominated for the position of Deputy Minister for Works and Housing.

The list will surprise many, especially when some popular persons and ‘friends’ of President Akufo-Addo, who served as Deputy Ministers have been cut off. The cut-off former Deputy Ministers include Carlos Ahenkra, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka, and Pius Hadzide a former Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports and also Information.

The list also has the majority of the Deputy Minister nominees coming from the Parliament of Ghana, which creates the impression that the president made have selected them for winning their seats in the 2020 election.
