Hayil Ladies Ministry, a Ladies wing of Desert Pastures, Fountain Gate Chapel in Bolgatanga has donated medical essentials to the children and the maternity ward of the Upper East regional hospital.
The donated items which are aimed at assisting the hospital with some of its basic needs especially at the maternity and the children wards in the hospital as also part of the mother’s day celebration of the ministry.
The donated item includes a cardiotocography machine, five drip stands, a pulse oximeter, three thermometer guns as well as Malt and water.
The President of Hayil Ladies Ministry the Ladies wing of Desert Pastures Mrs. Rosemond Anaba stated that for the past five years the women wing of the church has adopted the children ward and the maternity block to always offer them support every Mother’s Day with some significant medical essentials they are lacking as a hospital.
Mrs Anaba said the Hayil ladies ministry adopted the kids and maternity ward for five years now based on a visit some time ago to the hospital where they witness at first hand the serious conditions such as inadequate bedsheets, beds which prompted them to adopt the two wards.
She added that they decided that as women who have children, there was the need to adopt the maternity ward and also the child ward so that on special days like mother’s day where everybody remembers the Mother they could also do a donation to these wards just to let them know that they appreciate the work the hospital has been doing over the years.
The in-charge midwife at the Upper East regional hospital Maternity block Mrs. Hajia Mariam Fuseini who received the donated items on behalf of the hospital authorities thank Hayil Ladies Ministry for the gesture.
She noted that the cardiotocograph machine will go a long way to help save the life of children and mothers at the maternity block and aid them to work effectively.
