Midnight Crew Has Face Many Challenges – Mike Abdul

Leader of Midnight Crew, a Nigerian Multiple Award Winning Gospel superstar, Mike Abdul Midnight crew has revealed that despite the success the group chalked it has faced challenges over the years. Midnight crew, the faith-based musical group was formed in 2001 with eleven members.

They are proud owner of ‘Igwe’ song, a song that became an instant hit in Nigeria and circulated throughout the entire world winning the Best Gospel Song in Africa at the 2009 Africa Gospel Music Awards in London.

However speaking to Worshipper on the ‘Personality of the Week’ show on A1 radio Mr. Abdul said the group earlier eleven members has reduced to four members due to issues beyond their control.

Describing their music as electric robust and full of character taking something from every genre of music available, Mike Abdul stated that Midnight Crew has performed at several enviable platforms alongside gospel music icons like Lionel Peterson, Mary, Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Panam Percy, Kurt Carr, Ron Kenoly and Don Moen.

Midnight Crew can boast of four albums under their belt, titled Fusion, Tongba unlimited, Igwe and King of Nations.

Midnight Crew has won several national and international awards including 2009 City People Awards (USA), Music Group of The Year 2009, Nigeria Entertainments Awards Gospel Artiste of The Year, Nigeria Gospel Music Awards 2009, Best Traditional Song 2009, Nigeria Most Popular Song of The Year 2010 and Best Non-UK Song of The Year at the Africa Gospel Music Awards.
