Pwalugu Police School graduates 581 recruits in the Upper East Region

Police Public Safety school in Pwalugu of the Upper East Region has graduated 581 recruits comprising of 327 females and 254 males.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu commended, the graduates for their stay in the school and completing their training which transitions them from recruits to police officers.

The minister charged, the graduates to exhibit professionalism as they join the police service.

He stressed that, “You have joined the police service at a time our country needs you the more, as you all know the major challenges facing our society today such as armed robbery, smuggling, human trafficking and all sorts of indiscipline on our roads and I am confident that you will discharge your duties accordingly as professionals to stop the occurrence of crime”

Director-General, Welfare of the Ghana Police Service Mrs. Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo Danquah expressed her gratitude to the Commanding Officers, Trainers, Supporting Staff and all stakeholders who contributed to making the dreams of the recruits a reality.

She advised, the graduates “as you step into your professional career bear in mind that you cannot succeed in your efforts to protect lives and properties without respecting members of the public. Never let your new status get you carried away to engage in acts which will bring shame and dishonor to yourselves, family, the police service and Ghana as a whole.”

Madam Danquah reiterated, the need for the new constables to desist from corrupt practices which has the tendency of bringing the Ghana Police service into disrepute.
