Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East Constituency, Dr. Dominic Ayine has honored his promise to his constituents.
The National Democratic Congress’ MP in his campaign rounds promised constructing a classroom block for the Zono Zoore Community in Zuarungu.
This promise followed a request by the community members for the new classroom block because, the existing one was a dilapidated structure which was constructed 15 years ago.
This situation has forced children from Zono Zoore to cross rivers to other communities for learning activities.
It has for the past years, exposed them to risks especially, during rainy season.
Hence the construction of the new classroom block has brought relief to the people of Zuarungu-Zono.
Speaking to the Media during the handing over ceremony, Dr. Dominic said he felt fulfilled for honoring his promised.
He also expressed gratitude to the community for their patience and believe in his leadership.
He also encouraged the pupil to develop their future by taking their education serious .
“I am happy that we have been able to accomplish this. So I’m very happy not because we have a school behind us but looking into the future, I’m hoping that the pupils from this community will develop themselves and go further in their education to become men and women of substance in the future” he stated.
The funding for this school project is from the MP’s share of Common Fund and comprises of classroom blocks with toilet facilities, ICT lab and Staff Common room.
Meanwhile, District Director of Education for Bolgatanga East, George Asira has appealed to community members and staff of the school to protect and maintain the facility for it to last longer.
