The President, Nana Akufo Addo has indicated his government’s commitment to make the Bamahu-Airstrip road a dual carriage one.

The President said he had heard the many calls from the Chiefs and people of the area for the need to expand the road.

He explained that the road will feature in government’s plan to asphalt and expand 1500 kilometres of road throughout the country this year.

He said this comes after his government was able to asphalt 1200 kilometres of road in his first term.
“During my first term, we were able to asphalt 1200kilometres of roads in the country.

It is the most by any government in the 4th republic. We have committed ourselves to doing 1,500 kilometres during my second term,” he said.

The President said this when he paid a courtesy call on the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area in his Palace at Wa.

Meanwhile, in a radio conversation with GBC’s Seidu Bomanjo, the President admitted that the Northern Development Authority as it is now, is bedeviled with numerous challenges thus hindering the effectiveness of the Authority.

President Nana Akufo Addo mentioned that a thorough audit had been conducted and the operations of the Authority would be reviewed soon.
