President Akufo-Addo’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bongo in the Upper East Region is Rita Atanga.

The Acting DCE for the area, Peter Ayinbisa, failed to retain his position.

If confirmed, Madam Atanga will be the first female DCE for Bongo since the year 1992.

She is one of the 3 females nominated for the MDCE position by the president in the Upper East Region.

Her other two colleagues are Vida Anaab Akantagriwen for Builsa North Municipality and Agnes Anamoo for Nabdam District.

Meanwhile, ahead of the announcement of the MMDCEs and for that matter Madam Atanga, Mr. Ayinbisa expressed confidence that the President would nominate someone who would be accepted by all.
