The over-decade abandoned Bolgatanga Catering Rest-house has finally been reopened for the public by a private investor; and shall henceforth be known as ‘Bombs Events Center’.

The facility which was established by the Government of Ghana had been abandoned over the years but has now been renovated and opened for entertainment and refreshment purposes.

At a colorful ceremony on Friday, October 8, 2021, to reopen the facility, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bombs Events Center, Edmond Bombande, noted that as a lover of entertainment, he found it necessary to seek for private-government partnership in order to take over the facility and provide the people of the Upper East Region the first ever best entertainment and events center for all activities.

He observed that many residents of the region always have to travel to near-by regions to have fun especially during weekends because they do not find an appropriate place in the region.

He said “I am somebody who loves entertainment and seeing that our brothers, sisters and other people normally leave the region on weekends and travel to Tamale, Accra and other places to have fun, I thought it wise that, if I should get the opportunity to renovate this place it will help us in so many ways.

First it will help me employ people to work, and in that sense I will be providing jobs to some people and also our brothers who usually travel out of the region for fun will no more travel, and we will also have the opportunity to get people from the other places to also come  and have fun here.”

Alhaji Ibrahim Abilla, who represented the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, described the decision by Bombs Events Center to take over the nearly-collapsed Government property and make it functional as laudable.
