A communicator with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon TTB says the Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Bossman Asare lacks the credibility to ask the Ghana Police Service to launch an investigation on the comments made by former president, John Dramani Mahama.
The Electoral Commission (EC) at a press conference held in Accra on Monday dubbed ‘Let the Citizens Know’ called on the Ghana Police service to investigate claims made by the former President John Mahama that the commission thumb printed one million ballot papers in favor of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in the 2020 presidential election.
It further described the claim as “false and untrue” and stressed that it will be in the public interest for the police to initiate a full-scale investigation that would require Mr. Mahama to provide evidence to support his claim.
But speaking on ‘Daybreak Upper East’ show on A1 Radio, the NDC communicator believes the Deputy EC was not credible enough to have occupied his current position, neither is he credible enough to call on the police to probe a statement made by the former president.
According to Solomon TTB, the Deputy EC Chair was a known member of the student wing of the NPP, TESCON.
He further alleged that the brain behind the appointment of Dr. Bossman Asare for the EC top job was to compensate him for the contribution he made to the NPP during his years as a student at the University of Ghana.
He, therefore, asked Ghanaians not to take what the Deputy Chairman of the Commission in charge of Corporate Services seriously as he speaks in favor of the governing New Patriotic Party.
