General Constable Iddrisu Gafaru; one of the policemen airlifted after Walewale-Bolgatanga road accident has passed on

One of the injured police officers in the Walewale-Bolgatanga road accident has passed on. The Ghana Police Service conveyed this to the public in a statement signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kwesi Ofori.

The statement recalled that “On Friday, 22nd October, 2021, the Police Administration airlifted three Police officers from Tamale to Accra for intensive medical care. The three officers were among five officers who were involved in an accident while responding to a robbery incident on the Walewale-Bolgatanga road”.

The statement went on to say that “sadly, one of the three, General Constable Iddrisu Gafaru who had been in critical condition passed on in the early hours of today. In line with Islamic tradition, a pre-burial ceremony will be conducted today, 31st October, 2021 for our departed brother. May Allah grant him Jannah”.

Meanwhile, the other two officers are responding positively to treatment.
