The 499 aggrieved law students say they are looking forward to a positive resolution to the current impasse among the Ghana Legal Council, Parliament and the law students themselves. Speaking to the Host of A1radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, Samuel Mbura, Lead Convener for the students, Mr. Tony Baah said all the students want is an opportunity to further their education at the Ghana School of Law. Mr. Baah said the case at the court by the students was adjourned to the 9th of November, 2021. He said they are hoping that the court will yield some positive result.

“We never say die until the bones are rotten. We have not given up yet. The case is in court and we are to go back on the 9th of November, 2021. All we want is to go to school,” he stressed.

Touching on recent development from Parliament and comments of the Attorney General, Mr. Baah expressed the belief that both parties are keenly interested to bringing finality to the matter in a manner that pleases all parties.

“I think that if we glean from what Godfred [Dame, Attorney General] put out, he has been directed by the Executive to act on our issue and bring finality to the matter. Parliament has also directed him to do same. So we see both the legislator and the executive issuing the same directive,” he explained.

Mr. Baah explained that the students do not want to meddle in the back and forth between Parliament and the Ghana Legal Council. He said they as students have written an exam, passed and are looking forward to furthering their education.
