UW: Sissala East MP presents more than 1,200 mathematical sets to students ahead of BECE

The Member of Parliament for Sissala East Amidu Chinnia Issahaku has donated over one thousand mathematical sets along with about two thousand five hundred pens to the Sissala East Municipal Education Directorate. The items are supposed to be redistributed among Junior High School students sitting for this year’s BECE in the area.

In a Facebook post by the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, he called for commitment from both students and teachers to ensure that students who sit for the exam pass with distinction.

“I gave the Ghana Education Directorate 1250 pieces of mathematical sets and 2500 pens for onwards submission to the 1,242 BECE candidates who are going to take part in the impending BECE exams. Education is the pivot of development and I will keep supporting the education of the young ones. Each pupil will get one mathematical set and two pens,” he wrote.

The MP later spent some time with staff and students of the Tumu Midwifery College of Education. Mr. Chinnia Issahaku disclosed that the school produced the national overall best student in 2019 and again this year. He reckoned that it meant that the something was being done right at the school. The Deputy Minister after his interaction with the school handed over to them 2 projectors and a router to help advance the school’s teaching and learning activities.

“The school produced the national overall best student two years ago and repeated same this year. I want to on behalf of the people of Sissala East thank the principal and her staff for their commitment in turning out excellent products from the school,” he wrote.

Mr. Issahaku had earlier present some computers and printers to the Tumu, Bawiesiboi and Banu Traditional Councils.
