UW: Two die in road accident on Sorbelle-Tumu road

Two people have been reported dead on the Sorbelle-Tumu road. The two, Mr. Sulemani Mamuru Wisiwia and Mr. Salamu Mahamadu, died after the motorbike they were traveling on collided with a Kia Truck on its way from Gwollu to Tumu.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened between 6 and 7 pm. The eyewitnesses say the Kia truck, which had just one functioning headlight, was trying to swerve potholes on the road. In the process, the truck collided with the motorbike carrying the two passengers.

Both passengers are said to have died on the spot as the vehicle ran over them after the collision. Mr. Sulemani Mamuru Wisiwia, suspected to be in his twenties is a recent graduate of the Tumu College of Education while the other person. The other victim of the accident, Mr. Salamu Mahamadu is suspected to be in his thirties.

The accident that claimed the lives of the two, according to eyewitnesses, brings to mind the need for authorities to fix the roads and road lightning systems in the Sissala East Area.
