The Director of Agriculture in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region Ibrahim Jamal Deen has admonished farmers to shift from their indigenous method of farming to modern methods for good yields.
He said the known indigenous farming systems have to be relooked at because of the ever-changing weather pattern in recent times.
Mr Jamal Deen added that considering the location and weather conditions in the region it is prudent for farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices. He said this on the Agric Forum Show on A1 Radio.
Touching on this year’s farming season, Mr Jamal-Deen noted that his district was able to record some appreciable harvest despite the challenges amidst farmers.
