Customers of DKM Micro Finance have expressed anger at delays in getting their monies given back to them and threatening to demonstrate and take a legal action against the micro finance.

Over 120 disgruntled customers of the embattled micro finance company picketed in front of the offices of DKM Micro Finance in Bolgatanga to demand for their monies. A 90 days moratorium that was slapped on the company by the Bank of Ghana has expired and this has further infuriated the customers who say they are in the blues and do not know what is happening and worried they might not get their monies back.

A 90 day moratorium was placed on the company’s operations on May 11, 2015 for operating in contravention of the banking act.

Meanwhile, the central bank has decided to extend the period of the moratorium to August 11 to allow for the Micro Finance to meet the obligations by injecting liquidity before they can be allowed to resume operations.

Some livid customers in Bolgatanga who spoke to A1 Radio recounted the frustrations they are currently going through as a result of the freeze of their monies.

Meanwhile management of the company have appealed to the worried customers remain resolute and calm while it works around the clock to get the matter resolved. In a statement issued Wednesday the management prevailed on them to treat with contempt speculations being bandied around and eschew fear.
