Residents of the Tindonsobligo community, a suburb of the Bolgatanga Municipality, have expressed their happiness about the convenience the sim re-registration at the premises of A1 Radio has brought.

Most of the residents explained the processes involved in the re-registration of sim cards at A1 Radio have been largely smooth. They however called for other organisations to partner with the telecommunication companies to allow other residents access a more convenient way to re-register their sim cards.

Augustine Ayine said “ as you can see, we are here trying to link our Ghana Card with our SIM cards. I think if they want to continue doing this, then they should increase the branches and it will be better for us. I think the queue here compared to the office is better because in the office the queue is too long and at the end of the day they may not be able to do it and will still come back home and in the next day they are expected to be there. So, I think this one is better but they should try and increase the branches so that it can be more convenient and easier for us”.

“For here, I don’t know whether it’s because the people are not many or what; the queue is moving faster as compared to the main office,” said Felix Akolbire.

Another patron who gave her name as Esther also said “though I just came, I can see that the queue is moving faster compared to town. So, the process is very convenient”.

Speaking to Samuel Mbura on Break Upper East, the General Manager of A1 Radio, William Nlanjerbor Jalulah explained that the exercise forms part of the company’s public service duty. Mr. Jalulah said the exercise for the public was decided on after a show of interest by residents within the Tindonsobligo community when a similar exercise was organised recently for staff and their families in the premises of the media company.
