A1 Radio gets results; JCE rescues Zaare Experimental Basic School with 100 dual desks

After putting a spotlight on the plight of Zaare Experimental Basic School pupils three months ago, Jackson College of Education (JCE) has come to their rescue.

It could be recalled that last year, November 25th, A1 Radio carried out a report regarding the struggles pupils of Zaare Experimental primary faced in terms of inadequate furniture. The situation resulted in students having to sit or lie on the bare concrete floor to learn.

The school at the time of the report had only 50 dual desks for its over 300 student population.

The pupils’ plight brought about calls from various authorities in education both far and near to go to their aid.

Given that, the Principal of the Jackson College of Education, Mrs Theodosia Jackson has gone to the aid of the students.

She and her institution have been able to provide 100 dual desks to augment the furniture deficit that bedevilled the school pupils for many years thereby impeding their quality of education.

After presenting the desks, Mrs Jackson acknowledged the commitment path her institution had towards the betterment of the pupils’ education.

She added that were far advanced to help give the school’s structure a new look by painting it.

Appreciating the efforts, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Rex Asanga called on the teachers and parents to protect the furniture against any miscreants who may want to destroy them.

He further assured that the assembly was also doing its part and has established an initiative called MCE Educational Programmes aimed at addressing infrastructural deficits in schools within the Municipality.

The Headmistress of the School, Madam Nsoh Gladys also called for more support to fine-tune education amongst the pupils.

Jackson College of Education was established in 2009 and is accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) formerly National Accreditation Board.

It is aimed at training teachers to educate the nation especially in the rural areas and runs programmes including a 4-year Bachelor of Education programme.
