The Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga central constituency Hon. Akolbire Opam Brown has indicated he will campaign in the run up to the National Democratic Congress parliamentary primaries based on his track records as a member of parliament of the Bolgatanga Constituency.

The two times member of parliament filed his parliamentary nomination forms at the party’s constituency office Saturday to contest in the November 7 parliamentary primaries and seek to be elected for the third time to parliament.

Addressing hundreds of party supporters who thronged to the party office to show solidarity to him, Hon. Opam Brown said he has done so much in various facets of development since his assumption to office as a Member of Parliament in 2008. According to him, five facets of development that was expected of him by constituents in 2008 and 2012 have been significantly delivered upon. These include education, health, water, roads and human development. These he added have been delivered though much is yet to come.

“I have gotten about 50 people into jobs and 29 out of these people are on controller payroll. Ask the other MP’s that people compare me with whether they have been able to get these number of people jobs” he said.

He expressed optimism of winning the mandate of the people for a third time and this he believes will be made possible due to his track record of delivering some level of development in the area.

“I am going to campaign based on what I have done and not based on what I will do. When the others come they will tell you what they will do but for me I will tell you what I have done” he added.

He however warned against insults and insolence by all and sundry and pledged to wage a clean and descent campaign devoid of insults.

The Bolgatanga central constituency secretary of the party Salifu Abdallah Jonathan received the aspirant’s nomination form and declared it certified after a perusal. He used the opportunity to call for a peaceful and clean campaign by all aspirants to honor the principles of the party as a social democratic party.

Hon. Akolbire Opam Brown is facing a stiff contention with Abrahim Amaliba a lawyer, Isaac Adongo a financial analyst and George Gamson a former assembly member of Zaare electoral area. All are expected to go through a vetting process on a date yet to be scheduled.
