Kusali, a community in the Sissala West District of the Upper West Region has benefitted from the benevolence of a UK-based philanthropist, Kodimah Sanda.

Mr. Sanda, together with some of his colleagues have supported a newly built community health centre in Kusali with medical equipment running into thousands of Ghana cedis. The equipment donated include a weighing scale, a drip stand, temperature gun, BP apparatus and a modern delivery bed.

At a brief but colourful handing over ceremony, the Assembly Member for the area who doubles as the Presiding Member for the Sissala West District Assembly, Tahiru Ali was optimistic that the donation would go a long way to support the attainment of universal health.

Mr. Ali extolled the great virtues of Mr. Sanda, the philanthropist saying that the current donation is not the only philanthropic act.

Mr Sanda, handing over the equipment to the community heaped praises on members of the community explaining that the government cannot address all their concerns. Thus, it is imperative that communities lead their own development and then ask for support from the government and other well-meaning organisations and individuals

He implored them to be vigilant and ensure the judicious use of equipment donated.

The Chief of the community, Kuoro Bakor Osman, on behalf of his people, expressed their gratitude for the monumental gesture.

Some community football teams were also privileged to be part of the benevolence of Mr. Sanda. They received sporting items such as football jerseys and footballs. A local radio, Gwollu Fm also received a microphone and air filter to enhance their media activities.
