Lawyer Anthony Namoo, Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP is confident that incumbency would not be a disadvantage to him ahead of the Regional Delegates Conference, Friday, May 27, 2022.

He said while he is not infallible and may have made some mistakes, largely, he had discharged his duties effectively as regional chairman.

He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show. He was speaking against the backdrop that a number of old executives were kicked out of office at the constituency level election.

“Yes, some lost, but some also won. The delegates would look at you and assess you. It is how you conduct yourself that they look at you and assess you. For me, the incumbency is rather an advantage because I was very visible in the constituencies. I was not an armchair chairman. There is no constituency that I did not go to,” he said.

Lawyer Namoo insisted that he had done enough to merit re-election adding that during his tenure, “transparency and openness were above board. Never before has there been so much transparency.”

He said in his interactions with some of the party delegates, his commitment to ensuring transparency in parting dealings has always been a point of conversation.

Speaking on the same platform, Lawyer Namoo described his tenure as chairman as historic.

He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show. Lawyer Namoo, giving this history explained that he has been the only chairman to have served a full term in office as chairman for the NPP in the Region since Alhaji Imoro Salifu completed two terms.

“I was never expected to be even around occupying the position up to now. There is a historical basis for this legitimate or illegitimate expectation.”
